Data Protection

In May 2018 new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) came into force in the UK. These regulations require organizations to be more transparent than they have been to date with regards to how they collect and use individuals’ personal information. They are also aimed at giving members of the public more control over their personal data.

The new regulations are mainly intended to target companies that gather personal data for commercial purposes. They do, however, apply to all organizations that collect personal data, including schools.

Derwentwater Primary is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information. Compliance with the regulations will be an ongoing process and the school has appointed a data protection officer to advise on and ensure our compliance with regulations.

If you have any questions or suspect or know of a personal data protection breach please email our Data Protection Lead at
