Pupil Leadership
At Derwentwater Primary School we know that our pupils are the most important part of school life.
We believe that it is vital to give them a voice and a say in the day to day running of the school.
We encourage our pupils to take on roles of responsibility, shaping the decision making of their own school, and to develop leadership skills through the following:
• School Council
• Prefects Team
• Digital Leaders
• Sports Leaders
• Leadership Club
• Librarians
Leadership Club - Junior School Environmental Summit
Members of our Leadership Club were selected to attend the Junior School Environmental Summit, where they collaborated with schools around Ealing to come up with initiatives to make our school and wider community more sustainable. Pupils participated in drama workshops, gardening workshops, VR sessions, and even built solar power robots! We are very proud of our students as they received praise from multiple other teachers commending them on their confidence and eloquent speech! Great job, Leadership Club!
Pupils enjoy a range of responsibilities and take them very seriously, for example when acting as school councillors, eco council members, sports leaders and playground leaders. They enjoy helping each other with their work.
